Our Mission to Dedication

We feel that education is the key to public acceptance of Mustangs and Burros. Therefore, our thrust as an organization is to demonstrate to the public that these animals can be successfully trained in a variety of disciplines. With a program of continued training, formerly wild mustangs and burros can become winners in local, state, regional and national competition. One goal of the Chapter is to annually hold at least one wild horse and burro show that demonstrates the beauty and versatility of these animals.

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has been charged by Congress with the responsibility of protecting and preserving wild equine. We believe that the “Adopt-a-Horse-or-Burro” program is currently the most effective way of accomplishing this although we may not always agree with every aspect. Our function is to support the Bureau’s program and to assist in whatever way we can. Our goal is to help and not to hinder the process.
